Editorial Policy on the Use of AI
The Political Sciences Journal acknowledges the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in scholarly publishing and recognizes the need for clear ethical guidance governing their use.
The Political Sciences Journal adheres to the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding the responsible and transparent use of AI in academic research and publishing, as outlined below:
- AI tools, including large language models, cannot be listed as authors under any circumstances.
- Authorship and full responsibility for the manuscript rest exclusively with human authors.
- Authors remain fully accountable for all content, including text, images, or data generated with AI assistance.
- Any use of AI tools in writing, editing, translation, image generation, or data analysis must be transparently disclosed.
- Disclosure must specify which AI tool was used and how it was used, preferably in the Methods or Acknowledgments section.
- The use of AI must not compromise originality, accuracy, or scholarly integrity.
- Authors are liable for any breach of publication ethics arising from AI-assisted content.
- The fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data using AI tools is strictly prohibited.
- Failure to comply with this policy may result in manuscript rejection or retraction.
